Part of being a great teacher is grounding your teaching in a solid yoga practice. For this reason we ask that you have been practicing yoga for at least 1 year. Exceptions are made for those with experience in similar traditions - tai chi, nia, feldencrais, dance etc.
We limit the size of the training so that there can be ample room for everyone while still having a large enough group to create a cohesive community. If you are very interested in the course, please apply early.
Each teacher trainer is required to complete monthly projects for each of the 11 months that follow the 1-month intensive. For the modular training these projects will begin upon acceptance to the program. You will be assigned any of a number of projects that include, but are not limited to:
- attending classes from 4 different yoga studios or traditions and detailing your experience
- volunteering at a homeless shelter for a weekend and writing a report on karma yoga
- teaching 2 yoga classes in a month for free to youth at risk
- writing an essay after 6 months of teaching on what you have learned about yourself through teaching Moksha Yoga
Applications that come in earlier will be responded to earlier. You can expect to hear two weeks after your completed application and deposit are received. When the training is full we start a waiting list. |
